Our Cardiology Services

Echocardiography

Echocardiography is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses ultrasound technology to evaluate heart function. This sophisticated diagnostic tool provides real-time images of the heart, allowing for a detailed assessment of blood flow, valve function, and overall cardiovascular health. The latest systems can create three-dimensional real-time imaging, enabling our specialists to assess cardiac valve areas and function, abnormal communications between heart chambers, valve leakage, cardiac output, and ejection fraction.

Electrocardiograms (EKGs)

We perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) to measure the heart’s electrical activity. Whether used in emergency situations, routine check-ups, or pre-operative evaluations, EKGs help detect irregular heart rhythms and other potential concerns. With over 3,000 EKGs performed at Alomere Health annually, this vital service plays a key role in monitoring and maintaining heart health.

Cardiac Stress Testing

Cardiac stress testing helps determine how well your heart responds to exercise. During this test, your heart beats faster and requires more oxygen, allowing our specialists to detect potential blockages in coronary arteries through EKG changes.
The test involves connecting you to an EKG monitor while you exercise on a treadmill, starting at a low level and gradually increasing as tolerated. For patients unable to use the treadmill, medication can be administered to simulate exercise effects on the heart. Stress tests primarily evaluate blood flow to the left ventricle—the chamber responsible for pumping blood throughout your body—and generally take 60-90 minutes to complete.

Nuclear Medicine Stress Tests

We also offer Cardiolite stress testing, which combines traditional stress testing with nuclear medicine imaging for enhanced diagnostic capabilities. This specialized procedure allows our team to capture detailed pictures of your heart, providing additional information about blood flow and heart function.
