Alomere Health named a Top Rural & Community Hospital in the Nation
Alomere Health today announced it has been recognized as a 2026 Top 20 Rural and Community Hospitals in the nation by the National Rural Health Association. This recognition is based on superior performance across eight key areas including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, market share, cost, charge, and finance, and places Alomere Health among the top performing rural hospitals in the nation.
Earlier this year, Alomere Health also had the honor of receiving recognition as a Top 100 Rural and Community hospitals in the nation by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, an organization that conducts the health care industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural provider performance. Recognition by the National Rural Health Association of the Top 20 hospitals in the nation is based on a subset of the Top 100 performance metrics.
The Top 100 and Top 20 Rural and Community Hospitals recognition celebrates outstanding performance of the top rural hospitals in the nation based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Alomere Health has now earned this distinction as a Top 100 hospital eight out of the past nine years, and as a Top 20 hospital two of the past four years, demonstrating a sustained commitment to excellence. It also highlights Alomere Health’s continued excellence in delivering high quality, patient centered care and reinforces its position as a national leader among rural healthcare organizations.
“I could not be more grateful for our staff and physicians, and proud of the work they do every day to serve our patients”. said Alomere Health CEO Carl Vaagenes. ”This recognition is a direct reflection of the dedication and passion of our entire team. To be named a Top 100 hospital eight out of the past nine years speaks to the consistency of our commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate care. Achieving Top 20 status in two of the past four years further speaks volumes about how our team embraces our value of excellence and continues to elevate the level of care we provide to those we have the privilege to serve.”
“The delivery of care within rural communities is more complex than ever,” said Michael Topchik, Executive Director of The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “This year’s top performing hospitals have demonstrated remarkable resilience, innovation, and commitment to their communities. We are proud to recognize these organizations for their outstanding achievements.”
The National Rural Health Association will recognize the Top 20 Rural and Community Hospitals during its annual Rural Health Conference in May.
