Board-certified Dermatologists

Why certification matters.
For patients, certification means you are seeing a healthcare provider that has specialized training and competence in dermatology—in addition to their general medical degree.
After going to school for a traditional undergraduate degree, a dermatologist must complete four years of medical school. Then, they complete a dermatology residency (a one-year internship followed by three years of dermatology specific training). A board-certified dermatologist then takes an additional exam that further verifies that they understand and know how to treat conditions of the hair, nail, and skin appropriately.
