Alomere stands apart.

Across Minnesota and the nation, rural hospitals are under immense stress. Some have been forced to reduce services, been acquired by large health systems, or closed completely—a trend driven by chronic financial strain, workforce shortages, and changing reimbursement dynamics.
In Alexandria, Alomere Health is bucking that trend. Instead of shrinking, Alomere is attracting more providers and expanding specialty services to be an even more trusted regional health destination for West Central Minnesotans. Here’s several new innovations at Alomere:
da Vinci 5 Surgical System: Alomere has added the most advanced robotic-assisted surgical system available today, offering even more precision, greater control, and enhanced imaging capabilities for our surgeons.
Dermatology Expansion: Dr. Gregoire joins Dr. Harvey and Dr. Nesvik as they move their expanding specialty clinic to the brand-new Alomere Pavilion location.
Wound Care Center: This new, state-of-the-art clinic provides specialized care for acute, chronic, and complex wounds. This year, Alomere installed two new hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers—technology previously only found in larger health systems.
Non-profit Restructuring: The transfer from a county-owned health system to an independent 501(c)(3) non profit, means Alomere can serve a wider population of patients, well beyond the borders of Douglas County.
10 New Providers: Even though there is a national healthcare provider shortage, Alexandria continues to be an attractive location for providers who want a work-life balance. This year’s addition includes hard-to-find specialists in urology, oncology, dermatology, and pediatrics.
