Life-changing Care

When Arnold Zavadil first arrived at Alomere Health’s Wound Care Center in October of 2025, things did not look good. The 96-year-old Glenwood resident had been dealing with a severe wound on his foot since July—an open ulcer caused by atherosclerosis, with significant bone exposure and a bone infection called osteomyelitis. He was in constant pain and facing a very real possibility of amputation.
Angie Bradford, AGNP, WCC, took on Arnold’s case and laid out a custom treatment plan. Because Arnold lives in a nursing home in Glenwood and traveling frequently ws difficult, Angie coordinated with the nursing staff at his facility. The treatment wasn’t a single fix—it was a carefully managed progression of advanced wound care therapies.
The results are remarkable.
Today the wound has shrunk dramatically. And every time he comes in for an appointment, Angie says he makes a point to express how grateful he is. “Without the care I’ve received here, I think I wouldn’t be here anymore,” says Arnold.
Arnold’s quality of life today is night and day from where he started. The pain that once made walking impossible is gone. He’s able to move around his room on his own.

Wound care is never a solo effort, and Angie is quick to say so. Her colleagues at Alomere, including nurses Courtney and Savanna, collaborated closely on Arnold’s case, and the nursing team at his Glenwood facility followed treatment orders and maintained open communication throughout.
For Angie, she is also happy about her own quality of life. She came to Alomere’s Wound Care Center a little over a year ago. Her career path took her though operating room nursing, mobile wound care, and primary care for adult and geriatric patients—but she’s found her home at Alomere.
Whether you’re dealing with a chronic wound, a post-surgical complication, or something that simply isn’t healing the way it should, Dr. Trista Nelson, Angie and the team are here, close to home, ready to help. Click to learn more about Alomere’s wound care.
