Dr. Samuel Smith knew at a young age that he wanted a career in healthcare. He gained this love for healthcare from growing up in South Dakota with a dad who is a vet, and a mom who is a pharmacist. He attended South Dakota State for his undergraduate degree in Biology. He moved to Iowa for his doctorate at Des Moines University, and finished his residency at Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. Dr. Smith enjoyed two months during his training working alongside Drs. Butanis and Kietzmann at Alomere Health, giving him a head start getting to know the Alexandria area families. Beginning his Family Medicine practice at Alomere in 2022, Dr. Smith emphasizes a holistic and preventive approach to medicine. “Initiating healthy lifestyle habits early in life can make a dramatic difference in health that can last a lifetime,” says Dr. Smith.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll find Dr. Smith and his family living a simple lifestyle. He hopes to build a mini homestead with chickens and a large garden.
