Spotlight: Andrea Boe, MD, Internal Medicine
Starting in September, Dr. Andrea Boe brings her friendly, down-to-earth care to the Internal Medicine team at Alomere Health.
A Wisconsin native, Dr. Boe has called this region home for years—caring for veterans in Alexandria, Fergus Falls, St. Cloud, and Brainerd for the past 14 years. Now, she’s excited to shorten her commute and focus her energy right here in Alexandria.
Her love for science began in high school biology and chemistry classes, but it was volunteering at her local hospital in Eau Claire that truly sparked her passion for healthcare. “It just clicked for me—I loved helping people,” she says. In a unique twist, she even went to college alongside her mom, who pursued her dream of becoming a nurse later in life. “We’d talk about classes, compare notes, and cheer each other on. She had a wonderful decade-long career before retiring.”
Dr. Boe earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, completed her residency in La Crosse, and began her career in St. Cloud. While she’s thrived in every setting, she’s especially looking forward to caring for more women and older adults—patients who may be juggling multiple health conditions and need a thoughtful, problem-solving partner in their care.
The same patience and understanding extends into her personal life. In addition to raising three children alongside her husband, Dr. Boe is training horses as a hobby. “They’re like strong, heavy brats,” she laughs, “but just like Winston Churchill said, ‘The outside of a horse is good for the inside of man.'”
With her approachable nature and focus on what truly matters to her patients, Dr. Boe is ready to make healthcare feel a little more personal.
