Dr. Brian Carlsen is a native of Minnesota and graduated from high school in Ashby, MN. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where he received his B.A. Degree magna cum laude. He then continued his education at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND, where he received his M.S. Degree in Biochemistry. After completing his M.D. Degree at the University of Minnesota, he completed his Pediatric Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
Dr. Carlsen joined the Alexandria Clinic, P.A. in August 1993. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
He and his wife, KrisAnn, along with their children, reside in the Miltona area. He enjoys music, sports and other recreational activities.
Kenneth J. Martin, M.D.

Ken is originally from Tennessee, but grew up in Georgia. He attended college and medical school in Augusta, Georgia. He completed his Pediatric residency in 2009 from Penn State Hershey Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Martin then began as a civilian Pediatrician working for the U.S. Army. He practicing pediatric medicine at Caserma Ederle, an American Army base located in Vicenza, Italy. He has also practiced for the Indian Health Services, and the U.S. Air Force. He is moving to Minnesota from Florida.
Jenna M. Mattocks, PNP

Jenna Mattocks was born and raised in Alexandria, MN. She graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012. She completed the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado, where she obtained her graduate degree in Nursing in 2015.
Jenna is Board Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is also a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She worked as a Registered Nurse, primarily with pediatric patients, in Denver, CO prior to joining Alexandria Clinic in January 2016.
She enjoys boating, golfing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Sarah Rusch, PA

Sarah Preusser is a Douglas County native, who grew up in Brandon, MN. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Language from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse in 2004. In 2007, Sarah graduated with her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. She has been working in Pediatric subspecialties inclusive of ENT, Hematology/Oncology & Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant since 2007 and has a strong passion for pediatric medicine. Sarah joined the Alex Clinic in January of 2019.
